About Us
Joanie Sellers Edwards
Owner
Joanie has been a Texas realtor since 2000, a professional liquidator since 2012, done Estate Sales since 2012 and is the owner of The Nest Estate Sale Services. The two things she loves most about her career path is the people she gets to meet and serve. Real Estate is a rewarding career in and of itself, but staging and marketing estate sales is a passion that has become the biggest part of who she is. Small estates to grand estates, movie sets to commercial liquidation, Joanie knows that the best way to sell is presentation and knowledge. With a strong knowledge of furniture makers and history of the artist, she is able to educate buyers on quality and design styles.
Joanie grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. It was under the watchful eye of her two Aunts, one an antiques dealer, the other a second hand furniture store owner, that she learned the art of staging, history and marketing.
Tammy Sellers Pullen
Event Coordinator
Tammy Sellers Pullen is the first cousin of Joanie and is also from Fort Worth. Neither will admit which is older. Tammy, formerly owned a commercial and residential cleaning service for several years and offered Christmas Decorating Services as well. Tammy strengths lie in her incredible ability to organize and prioritize sale events. Her favorite saying is
“if you can't show it, you can’t sell it” and her staging abilities are amazing!
“There is so much more to selling someone’s lifelong accumulations than merely bringing it out of the closet. You must clean it and place it where the next person can see what it meant to the previous owner.”
Well said Tammy!
The estate sale business is hard work but like my mom always told me “Jojo, you’ll rust out long before you’ll wear out!”
We're cousins!
We grew up together in Fort Worth, Texas where we learned the value of antiques, second hand household items, cars, trucks and just about everything else in the family businesses. Our family owned businesses where cars, trucks, country music tour buses and household chattel could be sold.
It was easy to segue into estate sales because we had the knowledge and history of most companies that produced furniture, glassware, silver, silver plate and most other items.
"I had been doing estate sales for approximately eleven years but not as my primary business. When I decided to go full time in June of 2016, I called my cousin Tammy, and asked if she were interested in working with me. She said she would think about it and she quit her job the next day!" We have not looked back. We do 2-3 sales per month at times and it can get difficult, but nothing gives us more joy than receiving letters from people we have helped to close out chapters and re-home items that once held memories."
